Overview

I took an active role in the frontend development of ŞOK Market's online shopping and "Cepte ŞOK" delivery platform, one of Turkey's largest retail chains. Our primary goal was to ensure the system remained stable and fast during high-traffic campaign periods when millions of users accessed the platform simultaneously.

Architectural Approach

  • Scalable UI: We blended critical flows like the Cart, Checkout, and Product Listing pages using the Static Site Generation (SSG) and Server-Side Rendering (SSR) capabilities of the React and Next.js ecosystem.
  • High Traffic Management: To prevent UI freezes when concurrent traffic spiked 10x during discount days, we heavily focused on "Interaction to Next Paint (INP)" metrics. Heavy JavaScript operations were deferred using startTransition and background tasks.

Achievements

  • Minimized UI-based crash and freeze rates during peak user density hours.
  • Optimized the platform to align perfectly with the 99.9% uptime target.
